Watcher support
Your library on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. Watcher requires access to a Plex or Jellyfin library or a compatible server. It does not include a movie or TV subscription or require a separate Watcher account.
Connect Plex
1. Choose Plex during setup or in Settings → Library → Change Library.
2. Generate a code and open plex.tv/link in your phone or computer's browser.
3. Sign in to Plex, authorize the connection, and select an available server.
If no servers appear, check that your account has library access and Plex Media Server is running. Generate a new code if the previous one expired. Watcher displays movies and shows from the selected library.
Connect Jellyfin
Enter your server address and the username and password supplied by its administrator. Use HTTPS for a remote server. HTTP addresses are supported only on the local network. On iPhone, iPad, or Mac, allow local-network access if the operating system requests it to connect to your server.
An empty library does not necessarily mean a connection failed. Check that the user has permission to see movies or shows, then refresh the library. Playback and transcoding permissions are managed in Jellyfin.
Custom server
This mode requires an HTTPS URL compatible with Watcher's catalog contract. An arbitrary webpage, Plex/Jellyfin address, or individual video link is not a compatible catalog. Ask your server administrator for a supported address. Watcher does not preload a public server address or include a subscription or content package.
Playback and downloads
If a title will not start, check connectivity and server permissions. Where available, try a compatible source using the player's server-selection control. Playback depends on file format, tracks, and the server's ability to deliver a compatible version. Compatibility with every codec, DRM system, or server is not promised.
Downloads are available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac for compatible sources authorized by your server. Check available storage and wait for a download to finish before going offline. Remove downloaded files in Downloads. Apple TV does not offer offline downloads in this version.
Subtitles and progress
The player lets you choose available tracks and search external subtitles when the title can be identified. You can change language, version, and timing. Results depend on the provider and the video edition.
Local progress lets you resume playback. Optional Trakt integration is available in custom-server mode; the current version does not synchronize Plex or Jellyfin libraries through Trakt. Trakt session synchronization through iCloud requires an available iCloud account and a build with the capability enabled. It does not synchronize downloaded files.
